UK Online Centre

UK Online logo

Our UK Online centre is seeing a greater take up of use. Use of the computers is almost free, you need to become a member of our association (£1 per year) and then pay 5£ per year to use the computers. Contact the centre for more information.

Feel free to drop in any day between 10am and 12am and see what it is all about.

If you are reading this there is a good chance you are happy using computers. Do you have a couple of hours per week you could offer to help others using them? Again contact us - we will train you if required.

Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers to help us meet our aims. Do you have a skill you could bring to the management committee? Maybe you have a skill you could teach others but lack the facilities to do so. Talk to us!

In the area we serve, which is basically Scunthorpe to the north of Doncaster Road, we have growing unemployment; pockets of real, and growing, poverty; an ageing population; youngsters failing to engage with education; high numbers of teen pregnancies; a wide range of health issues; alcoholism; homelessness and one of the most diverse communities you will find anywhere in Great Britain. In fact if you were to prepare a tick list of the main social issues which needed to be addressed in Britain today we would probably tick every box.

And yet, within the same area we know there are the people with the skills that could help alleviate some of these problems. We recognise that we can only help to address some of these problems by signposting people to other agencies - but if you are an expert why not come and make sure we have the latest information.
