We have two yoga classes running with a very experienced tutor Grazyna Anelay (Grace). The first, on Thursday evenings at 19:00, is for adults and lasts about one hour. On Tuesdays at 15:45 is a class for Parents and Primary School Children lasting about 40 minutes.
For these classes you will need suitable clothing such as leggings, socks, T-shirt together with something warm such as a sweater for relaxation. Whilst exercising you will spend most of the time lying down so you will need to bring a blanket, mat or even a sleeping bag - although we do have some spare mats available.
Yoga will help you to feel more relaxed and overcome the effects of stress.
Adult Classes will cost £2.50 per week with a £1 joining fee. Compare this with the costs in many places where you are expected to make an upfront payment for a number of weeks whether you attend or not.
The parent and child sessions are £1 per person, with a £1 joining fee for adults taking part, although the first week will be free so you can just try it out and see how it suits your child. Parents don't have to take part (Tea and Coffee is available at 30p per cup) but we're sure you would enjoy it!
Relaxation - Relaxation is a matter of learning how to let go of tension. Various techniques will be taught with the aid of music.
Breathing - Breathing exercises will revitalise the body and help to control the mind leaving you feeling calm and refreshed.
Exercise - The posture used in Yoga works on every part of the body, stretching and toning the muscles and joints, the spine and the entire skeletal system; they also work on the internal organs, glands and nerves too. But, it is very important not to push your body beyond its limits - all exercises need to be as slow as you can.
Meditation - Meditation gives increased clarity, mental power and concentration. Various types of meditation will be taught.
If at any time during the course you find difficulty with any of the exercises let Grazyna know!
No need to book just turn up!
